General Assembly

EPDAD - Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs
General Assembly
24 January 2020 Friday

As the most authoritative decision-making body of EPDAD, the General Assembly consists of the members registered to EPDAD. General Assemblies are divided into two structures based on their powers and manner of assembly: Ordinary General Assemblies and Extraordinary General Assemblies.

The Ordinary General Assembly convenes once every three years in May at the location and time determined by the Board of Directors.

Legal entities, which are members of the association, are required to notify the Board of Directors of the Association about their representatives to be participated in the General Assembly meeting and must submit the necessary authorization documents by the beginning of April in the year of the meeting.

The Board of Directors of the General Assembly must convene the General Assembly for an extraordinary meeting within thirty days when deemed necessary by the Board of Directors or the Board of Supervisors or upon the written request of one-fifth of the EPDAD members. Only the subject of the meeting is to be discussed and finalized in the Extraordinary General Assembly meeting. No proposals can be made to add any other topics to the agenda.

The functions and powers of the General Assembly are as follows:

  1. To make the necessary decisions in accordance with the relevant laws and the statute,

  2. To discuss and approve the work schedule, budget, and revenue and expenditure charts for the next working period,

  3. To determine the entrance fees and annual membership fees to be collected from members,

  4. To discuss and approve the Board of Directors’ work report, balance sheet, revenue and expenditure charts, and the Board of Supervisors’ report for the previous working period; and to discharge the Board of Directors,

  5. To elect the permanent and substitute members of the Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors for the next working period by secret ballot,

  6. To discuss and decide on the proposals of the Board of Directors regarding the amendment of the statute,

  7. To make decisions about the committees advised by Board of Directors and the Regulations prepared and proposed by the Board,

  8. To grant the Board of Directors the authority to purchase the immovable properties needed by EPDAD or sell the existing immovable properties,

  9. To make decisions on the proposals of the Board of Directors regarding EPDAD’s international activities, its membership to national and international organizations or its resignation from these memberships, and its cooperation with these organizations; and to authorize the Board of Directors on these matters,

  10. To decide on establishing a partnership, an economic, commercial, or industrial enterprise, a fund, or a foundation, or to join those that are or will be established,

  11. To establish the principles for determining all kinds of allowances, travel allowances, and compensation, including the daily allowances and travel allowances to be paid to the members of the Board of Directors assigned as part of EPDAD’s services,

  12. To decide on dissolving EPDAD and distributing its assets,

  13. To review and decide on any other proposals of the Board of Directors, and to make decisions on the necessary issues.
